Krishi India / Wellness India respond to India’s challenges to drive inclusive, sustainable economic growth that ensures a prosperous and healthy society.
19 August 2018, New Delhi: Krishi India 2018 expo/Wellness India 2018 expo kicks off tomorrow, bringing together influential voices dedicated to lifting millions of small scale farmers out of poverty, and embracing an improved lifestyle with balanced diet for better health.

Krishi India expo is designed to help small farmers increase their incomes and competitiveness by accessing information about markets. Evidently, the purpose of improving incomes is to enhance the quality of life. When a farmer’s income grows, he invests in a nutritious diet, improved sanitation and better healthcare.

Wellness India expo, incorporating Organic India, Health India and Biotech India, focusses on traditional Indian systems of medicines for accessible and affordable healthcare. It will facilitate promotion and help boost exports of AYUSH products, and showcase the latest research and developments in the alternative medicine systems of India.

Greetings poured in for the success of the expos from across the political spectrum. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said in his message, “I hope that the Krishi India expo will be a productive platform to take innovative solutions and technologies to our farmers, the real heroes of our nation. I expect the Wellness India expo to offer a great platform for the global wellness industry to exchange ideas and benefit from the holistic health perspective of our knowledge systems.”

Emphasising that the crop insurance policy, namely the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, has minimum premium rates on the principal sum assured for farmers, Shri Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation, said, “I hope that the expo will deliberate and discuss all the different facets of these exciting topics and come up with recommendations that will lead to a healthy and prosperous India.”

Wishing the expos a grand success, Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shri Shripad Naik, said, “Through the Ministry of AYUSH, we are not only promoting developmental activities of traditional medicine at the national level but also looking at more international cooperation and collaboration opportunities at bilateral, multilateral, regional and global levels.”

Organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Exhibitions India Group, the three day event is supported by the Ministry of AYUSH, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, PETA India and many more.

The expos support sustainable agriculture, empower small farmers, promote gender equality, end rural poverty, ensure healthy lifestyles, promote traditional Indian systems of medicines and other related issues, The seminar sessions will provide attendees with the widest range of topics imaginable. Themes include Bringing Wellness to You; Farming and Agriculture: An overall perspective; AYUSH for New India: Vision and Strategy; Yoga for Wellness; Horticultural Production Systems; Crop Varieties: Save and Grow; Marketing Innovations and Technologies in Agriculture; Organic Food; Vegan is the Future; Nutrition for a Healthy Living; etc.

Speakers will share practical solutions to agricultural challenges, personal experiences and strategies for improving the lives of millions. The event will offer an open exchange of information, connecting the people and ideas that can make a real and sustainable difference.

The event runs Monday through Wednesday at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
